It is the purpose of this paper to survey the status of the right to communicate in Asia as a region, in individual countries as nations, and among Asians as persons. It is essential that this be read with a spirit of understanding and a willingness to compromise and without letting political and commercial motives be attributed to people who talk of the right to communicate.
